Brandy

kollwentz-weinbrand

Finally, spirits made from pomace, dregs and grapes as well as apricots should be mentioned. These are traditionally distilled in a copper still by double distillation. Upon separation of the heads and tails tiny quantities of excellent spirits are obtained, which mature in glass balloons. The only exception is an impressive pyramid of oak barrels used to age brandies, the oldest stocks of which date back to 1986.
